CalArtians Earn 2026 Emmy Award Nominations

Nominations for the 78th Emmy Awards were announced today by the Television Academy in North Hollywood. CalArts alumni earned recognition across a range of categories, including production design, lighting design, and picture editing.

Outstanding Production Design For A Narrative Program (half-hour)
Hacks, “Who’s Making Dinner?” (HBO MAX)
Nominee: Rob Tokarz

Outstanding Production Design for a Variety Special
The 68th Annual Grammy Awards (CBS)
Nominee: Gloria Lamb (Theater BFA 06): Art Director

Outstanding Lighting Design/Lighting Direction for a Series
The Voice “Finale Part 2” (NBC)
Nominee: Johnny Bradley (Theater BFA 07): Lighting Director
Nominee: Daniel Boland (Theater BFA 95): Lighting Director
Nominee: Andrew Munie (Theater BFA 12): Media Server Programmer 

Outstanding Picture Editing for a Structured Reality or Competition Program
Survivor (CBS)
Nominee: David Armstrong (Film/Video BFA 88): Supervising Editor

The Voice (NBC)
Nominee: Alyssa Dressman Lehner (Film/Video MFA 01): Editor

The 78th Emmy Awards, hosted by actor, producer, and director Mariska Hargitay, will air live Monday, Sept. 14, at 5 pm PDT on NBC and stream on Peacock from the Peacock Theater at L.A. LIVE. The Creative Arts Emmy Awards will take place Saturday, Sept. 5, and Sunday, Sept. 6.
