CalArts School of Theater faculty Tina Kronis directs and choreographs the world premiere of the new musical comedy Delphi, running this weekend (Feb. 13–15) at the Getty Villa in Pacific Palisades, California.
Presented by Theater Movement Bazaar, the production also features performances by Paula Rebelo (Theater BFA 13) and Nikhil Pai (Theater MFA 12, School of Theater faculty), with costume design by the Theater School’s Ellen McCartney, director of Experience Design and Production.
Delphi is set in Greece around 2,000 years ago and follows the fading glory of the Oracle of Delphi—once the most famous place for divine predictions. Now struggling for support and funds, the crisis at Delphi raises some big questions: What happens to love when the chance for fame and fortune intervene? Will people stop trusting Apollo’s predictions and fall for propaganda instead?
Performances take place at 7 pm in the Villa Auditorium. Tickets are $35; the event ticket also serves as the required Villa entrance reservation. An additional parking fee applies.
At the time of publication, Saturday’s performance is sold out, and limited tickets remain for Friday and Sunday.
