Association Internationale du Film d’Animation (ASIFA) Hollywood’s Animation Educators Forum (AEF) recently announced the recipients of its 2025–26 student scholarships, which includes two Character Animation BFA students from CalArts: Guymin Choi and Felix Lipp. Both undergraduates were recognized for a Creative Animation Project.

Six students from the United States, Canada, and Spain received a total of $26,800 in this year’s honors. The scholarships support tuition, software, hardware, and research for animation students.

Prior to CalArts, Choi studied Cartoon and Animation at Sejong University in Korea. You can view his portfolio, which showcases 2D and 3D animation, as well as background illustration, here. Lipp’s Adobe Portfolio, which includes short animated studies as well as life drawings, can be viewed here.

In a statement shared with Animation World Network, AEF expressed its pride in supporting the next generation of animators, noting that the versatile medium “provides a way to communicate across cultures and across borders.”

ASIFA-Hollywood’s other initiatives include the Animation Archive, Animation Aid Foundation, Animation Educators Forum, and the annual Annie Awards.
