CalArts alum Olivia Fries-Farr (Music BFA 23) has organized a live concert featuring all-CalArtian acts— Ubiquitous, Jolee Go, June Youngblood, and Emrykul—this Saturday, June 29, at Genghis Cohen in Los Angeles.

Fries-Farr’s blues-rock project, Ubiquitous, headlines the event. The band features fellow CalArts musicians Joey Gold (Music BFA 24), Khristian Geisse (Music BFA 25), Marley Wall (Music BFA 23), Andreas Hester (Music BFA 24), and Binh Tat (Music MFA 25).

The evening also features a performance by Jolee Gordon (Music MFA 23), performing under the moniker Jolee Go. Gordon is a versatile songwriter, vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist. She is a member of several bands, including the songwriting duo Houndsteeth, avant-rock band Queen Crony, and experimental vocal trio Chatterbox.

June Youngblood (Music MFA 23) will bring her unique blend of jazz, rock, and folk to the stage. An LA-based singer-songwriter, bassist, and guitarist, Youngblood’s music explores themes of grief, mental health, and complex relationships. She performs both solo and with her band around Los Angeles and is currently working on her first full-length album.

Rounding out the lineup is the duo Emily Tschirhart (Music BFA 22) and Michael Ghadban (Music BFA 24), performing together as Emrykul.

Doors for the all-ages show open at 7 pm.
